Emma Sofía: the nine-year-old drummer who took the last smile of Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins,we talked to her father JULIUS PERALTA about the future drummer's career..

1) How did EMMA SOFIA become interested in music?
Music was always a part of our family. We both parents are amateur musicians. So very early in her life we discovered that she had a natural talent and great ear.




2) at just 9 years old she is already a drum phenomenon?
I don´t think we could say that she is a phonemenon. She has much to learn in her musical quest. But works hard for her age. Between school and being a kid, she finds the time to pursue her dreams. Of course, she likes to do many things a nomal kid her age would like. In that regard, she is a very normal and common kid.




3) What is the importance of educating children and generations listening to their rock idols nowadays?
Music in all genres is a big education for children. But we know that rock music has a thing no other style has, rock music is just so much more than a simple musical style.




4) Your daughter, in addition to meeting her idol, is now a celebrity? How do you as parents intend to help her in her artistic career?
She’s not a celebrity. Just got a big media attention because of the story with Taylor Hawkins. We would of course help her in any way we can.


5) I believe that emma is recovering from the loss of her idol, (taylor) what was it like telling emma about what happened?
We just told her straight and simple. She took it as any fan would take it. She’s still trying to discern how’s she’s feeling. Because it’s bit bittersweet. For one part she is happy and for the other she is sad. So she’s struggling with that.

6) we live in a difficult world technology was made to help people and is used wrongly many times, how does your daughter use this tool or social networks?
She doesn’t use her social media accounts. All her accounts are managed by parents.




7) We would like to say that we were delighted with EMMA and we know that she will be one of the greatest drummers in the world..leave a message to your fans..?
Always chase your dreams. Do the work and with time you Will reach your goals.
