In an exclusive new interview with Classic Rock, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry looks back on his eventful 50-year friendship with Steven Tyler.

In the extensive new interview in this month’s Classic Rock magazine, Perry has thrown light on the two men’s sometimes fractious relationship, shooting down rumours that they don’t get on.



“This is no bullshit, man, he’s probably my best friend through all of it,’ Perry tells Classic Rock. “We just know we’re different people. Even through the 70s, we were the ones that would go off on a scuba diving trip together.

Na última sexta-feira (9) os holandeses do Legion of Damned lançaram o seu oitavo disco de estúdio, “The Poison Chalice”, em todas as plataformas digitais, via Napalm Records. A banda também liberou o videoclipe do single, “Contamination “no mesmo dia do lançamento do álbum.
O lançamento estava inicialmente programado para o final de maio, mas nenhuma justificativa do atraso foi divulgada. “The Poison Chalice” sucede o disco, “Slaves of the Shadow Realm”, lançado em 2019

Gojira no Brasil:o que esperar do show em São Paulo

Gojira retornará ao Brasil no final deste ano para uma apresentação única em São Paulo. Parte da turnê The Mega-Monsters Tour, realizada ao lado do Mastodon, a apresentação acontece no Espaço Unimed, em São Paulo, no dia 14 de novembro.



Gojira retorna ao Brasil após show incrível no Rock In Rio

Pela quinta vez em nosso país, o quarteto francês de death metal progressivo retorna após pouco mais de um ano desde a última apresentação por aqui. A banda foi atração do palco Mundo no Rock In Rio 2022, escalada como substituta do Megadeth.

A performance foi muito elogiada pelo “peso, velocidade, técnica para o palco e setlist frenética de tirar o fôlego”, conforme contamos na resenha do show no festival carioca.

Agora imagine presenciar um show completo, com setlist mais longo e em um espaço mais intimista… Sem dúvidas, essa é uma experiência única para os fãs brasileiros, que nem sempre recebem a chance de assistir essas turnês conjuntas tão comuns no exterior.

MORTEMIA: CONFIRA O SINGLE “ANTIDOTE” COM PARTICIPAÇÃO DE FABIENNE ERNI

 

Na última sexta-feira (9) o Mortemia lançou o single, “Antidote”, em todas as plataformas digitais. A faixa, que conta com a participação da Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie e Illumishade), também rendeu um videoclipe – lançado de forma simultânea.




Esta é a quarta faixa da segunda parte do projeto, “The Covid Aftermath Sessions”, que se iniciou com a faixa cover da Madonna, “Frozen”, no final do ano passado.

OBITUARY / IMMOLATION / BLOOD INCANTATION - A TRIO OF DEATH IN MONTREAL

 

Heavy metal maniacs had an unusual rallying point for tonight’s festivities. They were all headed to the La Tulipe theatre to see Obituary, Immolation, Blood Incantation and Ingrown for a sold-out event.

There were not many fans in the venue when Ingrown started their set with their hardcore music. Being the first band of the night means that there are many things on stage, making it hard for band members to move around. But that being said, singer/guitar player Ross Hansen is very dynamic on stage but does not interact much with the crowd. The band pulverized the crowd with their heavy music that got the evening to a great start.

After a short set change, Blood Incantation was playing their death metal riffs and fans were loving every second of it. Their last performance in Montreal was in 2019, and by judging by the crowd’s reaction, it had been way too long for the fans. It was during the third song (The Giza Power Plant) that the first crowd surfer appeared and morphed into the first stage diver. Their sci-fi music was really aggressive and powerful and their short set was well received by fans.

Immolation was back in Montreal and was brutal as always. Their set was focused on their most recent albums with An Act Of God, The Age Of No Light, Blooded, and the set closer “Let The Darkness In”. Fans got the mosh pit going and it became intense in a record time. As usual, Ross Dolan, keeps the crowd interaction to a minimum and gets the crowd going with music. Robert Vigna on guitar is always incisive and precise with his playing, but Alex Bouks seemed to go through the motions mostly. I’m sure fans would have liked a longer set from these guys, but that will be for another time.

It was now time for the mighty Obituary to get on stage and ignite the venue with their pulverizing death metal. It had been a long time since the band played a headliner set in Montreal and fans were very anxious when they heard their traditional introduction song by Pat Travers (Snortin' Whiskey). As one would expect, the band played many songs from their most recent album Dying Of Everything. It did not take long to see crowd surfers and stage divers. There were so many divers that security was relocated to strategic placed so the divers would not stay too long on stage.



Fans knew this was going to be heavy, loud and totally insane on the floor as fans were pushing each other like there was no tomorrow. John Tardy is once again in great shape and his vocals are always very powerful and intense. The band grouped their new songs by two and separated those pair of songs wisely through their set. The band took a short breather before ending their set with the songs “War”, “Dying Of Everything”, “I'm In Pain”, and the crowd pleaser “Slowly We Rot”. As always Obituary did not disappoint and the musicians were very pleased by the crowd reaction.

KIKO LOUREIRO REVELA VÍDEO DA AUDIÇÃO PARA ENTRAR NO MEGADETH

 

Aproveitando a quarentena por conta da pandemia do COVID-19, Loureiro vasculhou seus arquivos e, nesta quarta-feira, 8 de abril, disponibilizou em seu canal oficial no You Tube um novo episódio, em que, finalmente, mostra um dos vídeos que enviou ao Megadeth, tocando a música Hangar 18, que foi uma das quatro que gravou – as outras foram Holy Wars… The Punishment Due, Symphony of Destruction e Trust.


Falando em inglês, antes de mostrar o vídeo tocando Hangar 18 Kiko Loureiro alerta: “Este não é um vídeo mostrando como tocar uma música do Megadeth. Então, não tente aprender como tocar esta música por este vídeo. Há um monte de notas erradas, um monte de riffs errados…”. Na sequência, Loureiro conta com detalhes como aconteceu de ser convidado à um teste para o Megadeth, inclusive fala dos telefonemas que recebeu de Dave Mustaine e do baixista David Ellefson e também da passagem áerea que ganhou do ‘staff’ da banda para ir até Nashville. O guitarrista também explica: “Minha ideia não era mostrar que eu podia tocar 100% nota por nota, mas mostrar que eu tinha a técnica, que eu tinha o estilo e que estaria apto a tocar as músicas do Megadeth se, claro, eu tivesse mais tempo para aprender todas as notas”.

Kiko Loureiro entrou no Megadeth em 2015 e sua estreia aconteceu no álbum Dystopia, que rendeu ao grupo o Grammy Awards na categoria “Melhor Performance de Metal” pela música Dystopia. Antes disso, o Megadeth já havia sido indicado onze vezes ao Grammy ao longo de sua carreira, mas nunca havia conquistado a premiação.



Quanto ao futuro do Megadeth, atualmente Dave Mustaine está concentrado em seu novo livro, Building the Perfect Beast, que deverá ser lançado no dia 8 de setembro via Hachette Books, e também na finalização do 16° álbum da banda, que ainda não tem previsão de lançamento. O novo álbum do Megadeth marcará a estreia do baterista Dirk Verbeuren e, provavelmente, terá uma participação ainda maior de Kiko Loureiro, que no anterior colaborou efetivamente como co-compositor de três músicas: Post American World, Poisonous Shadows e a instrumental Conquer or Die!.
