SMITH/KOTZEN, VIXEN BASSIST JULIA LAGE RELEASES NEW SOLO SINGLE / VIDEO “WAKE UP”

 

Internationally acclaimed artist Julia Lage has released her infectious new single, “Wake Up”. The multi-instrumentalist Lage wrote, recorded, and produced this mid-paced hard rocker, showcasing her versatility as both a songwriter and musician, taking on all vocal, guitar and bass duties, with drums provided by Michael Odabashian. “Wake Up” is available digitally and can be streamed and downloaded, here.

Recorded earlier this year, “Wake Up” carries a positive message to anyone feeling they are stuck in their lives and encourages everyone to look around and see that there are ways to move on and to change, but YOU must be that change. No one else can help you if you don’t want to “Wake Up” for your own life.



“This song has been on my hard drive incomplete for a few years now,” says Julia Lage. “I was recently struck with inspiration and felt it was the right time to finish and release it. I believe we are living in very complicated times after the pandemic and other issues in the world in general. I believe that the change starts with us and “Wake Up” represents that “push” some might need. ‘Wake Up for your life, Wake Up for your rights, Wake Up do it right, Wake Up you’re alright!’ Let’s be the change folks!”

To accompany the single, Julia Lage filmed and released the official video for “Wake Up”. Conceived and directed by both Lage and cinematographer Jose Andres Cortez, the video portrays her trying to “clean” and fix a place that is in ruins and looking outside wondering what it would be to get out of that reality. At a certain point she decides to leave that “inner place” and face her life! “The King is on the ground and you’re standing tall and proud.”

“I always loved the whole creative process,” says Lage. “The music. The writing. The video conception. All of this makes me so happy. I love watching an idea take shape into something concrete.”

Julia Lage has played and recorded alongside such diverse artists as Grammy Award winner Alejandra Guzmán, pop star Janelle Monáe and rapper Jidenna, as well as rock legends such as Pat Travers, Elliot Easton (The Cars) and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme). She is currently the bassist of the platinum selling rock band Vixen and has recently joined Smith/Kotzen, featuring Richie Kotzen and Adrian Smith, as the band’s touring bass player performing sold out shows throughout England as well as west coast dates in the U.S. including a sold-out show at The World Famous Whisky A Go-Go.

O vocalista do System Of A Down, Serj Tankian, lançará um álbum ao vivo de sua carreira solo com sua banda de apoio The FCC. Intitulado “Live At Leeds”, o álbum parece ter sido gravado durante sua aparição em 2008 no ‘Leeds Festival’ anual. Este passeio ao vivo chegará aos provedores de serviços digitais em 08 de abril e pode ser pré-salvo aqui.

Banda lamentou a perda do baterista e o cancelamento dos shows

O Foo Fighters divulgou nas redes sociais o primeiro comunicado oficial após a morte do baterista Taylor Hawkins, que aconteceu na última sexta, 25.

Nele, a banda anuncia o cancelamento de todos os próximos shows e pede desculpas pela “decepção de não entrar com os fãs como estava planejado”.

A banda finaliza dizendo que eles irão tirar esse tempo para “ficar de luto, nos curar, ficar perto de nossos entes queridos e apreciar toda a música e as memórias que criamos juntos”.

Um exame toxicológico divulgado no último sábado, 26, encontrou a presença de substâncias na urina de Taylor Hawkins, porém chegando a um resultado inconclusivo sobre a causa da morte. A investigação continua ativa. O baterista do Foo Fighters faleceu aos 50 anos em um quarto de hotel em Bogotá, na Colômbia, onde ele se apresentaria com a banda naquela noite.

SKID ROW: SAIBA MAIS SOBRE O NOVO TRABALHO COM NOVO VOCALISTA

A banda de Hard Rock chamada Skid Row lançou recentemente seu novo trabalho. Trata-se de um single e se chama The Gang’s All Here (2022). A novidade é que, além de ser um novo trabalho da banda, a banda agora tem novo vocalista: seu nome é Erik Grönwall.


A banda fez muito sucesso no fim dos anos 80 e início dos anos 90. Com grandes músicas no estilo Hard Rock, além de boas baladas, o Skid Row ganhou notoriedade na cena do Rock com seu trabalho. Porém, o vocalista Sebastian Bach nunca fora uma pessoa fácil de se lidar e certamente gerou muitos problemas na banda, saindo em 1996. Com o novo vocalista Erik Grönwall, agora a banda espera seguir com seu trabalho e fugir daqueles antigos problemas.

1) How did EMMA SOFIA become interested in music?
Music was always a part of our family. We both parents are amateur musicians. So very early in her life we discovered that she had a natural talent and great ear.




2) at just 9 years old she is already a drum phenomenon?
I don´t think we could say that she is a phonemenon. She has much to learn in her musical quest. But works hard for her age. Between school and being a kid, she finds the time to pursue her dreams. Of course, she likes to do many things a nomal kid her age would like. In that regard, she is a very normal and common kid.




3) What is the importance of educating children and generations listening to their rock idols nowadays?
Music in all genres is a big education for children. But we know that rock music has a thing no other style has, rock music is just so much more than a simple musical style.




4) Your daughter, in addition to meeting her idol, is now a celebrity? How do you as parents intend to help her in her artistic career?
She’s not a celebrity. Just got a big media attention because of the story with Taylor Hawkins. We would of course help her in any way we can.


5) I believe that emma is recovering from the loss of her idol, (taylor) what was it like telling emma about what happened?
We just told her straight and simple. She took it as any fan would take it. She’s still trying to discern how’s she’s feeling. Because it’s bit bittersweet. For one part she is happy and for the other she is sad. So she’s struggling with that.

6) we live in a difficult world technology was made to help people and is used wrongly many times, how does your daughter use this tool or social networks?
She doesn’t use her social media accounts. All her accounts are managed by parents.




7) We would like to say that we were delighted with EMMA and we know that she will be one of the greatest drummers in the world..leave a message to your fans..?
Always chase your dreams. Do the work and with time you Will reach your goals.

OPETH TO RELEASE IN CAUDA VENENUM (EXTENDED EDITION) FEATURING BONUS TRACKS; UNRELEASED SONG "WIDTH OF A CIRCLE" STREAMING

 

Opeth are peerless. Since 1990, the Swedes have eclipsed convention, defiantly crushed the odds, and, most importantly, crafted 13 stunningly beautiful, intrinsically intense albums to become one of the biggest progressive rock/metal bands on the planet – and they’re still only getting better, even after selling more than two million records and hitting the #1 in the German album charts with their album Sorceress in 2016.

Now back on US tour with Mastodon in April and May, the band around unmatched frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt announces the release of In Cauda Venenum (Extended Edition) for May 13.

This release, available on digipak, contains the English and Swedish versions of Opeth's latest album, In Cauda Venenum, with new illustrations by internationally renowned Travis Smith in the booklet. In addition, there is also a third CD including three unreleased bonus tracks, both in English and Swedish.

In Cauda Venenum (Extended Edition) is now available for pre-order.

Also on May 13, the album’s strictly limited Connoisseur Edition vinyl boxset which includes the same bonus tracks but remastered by Mikael Akerfeldt specifically for vinyl, will be available in the North American retail stores for the first time. Both album editions will also be available at the band’s merch table on the upcoming North American Tour.

DROWNED: BANDA LANÇA VÍDEO OFICIAL DA MÚSICA “RECIPE OF HATE (THE HOLY BIBLE)”

Nessa última sexta-feira, foi lançado o 8º álbum de estúdio da banda mineira Drowned, “Recipe of Hate”, uma verdadeira aula de Thrash/Death e desde já candidato a um dos melhores álbuns nacionais de 2022. Vale lembrar que o trabalho marcou o retorno em estúdio da formação original da banda, algo que não ocorria desde o clássico “Butchery Age”, de 2003.


Para divulgar o álbum, a banda lançou no final de semana o vídeo oficial de “Recipe of Hate (The Holy Bible)”, um dos grandes destaques do álbum. Filmado por Bruno Vavose, com direção e edição da VidJow Produções, também teve Samuel Moura como assistente de produção, Alice Austríaco como responsável pelas maquiagens e a participação da atriz Cristiane Amaral. A gravação ocorreu no “Lemmy’s Bar”.
