Na música, Anitta derruba o mito de que homens não choram ao abordar como a independência feminina tira muitos homens de suas zonas de conforto. “Vocês garotos não aguentam quando as garotas não necessitam do seu amor”, canta ela em mais um lançamento totalmente em inglês.
Anitta traduz sua narrativa de empoderamento e independência para o universo lúdico no videoclipe da faixa, cujo conceito foi idealizado por ela mesma. Formed in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, melodic thrash metal band Incrypt have signed with Wormholedeath for the release of their new album, Thrashing Extinction, due on February 25th. Ahead of the street date, Incrypt has released a lyric video for the title track.

Recorded at Sweetspot Studios in Halmstad (Sweden), mixed by Rickard Bengtsson & Staffan Karlsson and mastered by multiple Grammy award winner Vlado Meller (Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System Of A Down), Immutable will be available in various CD, vinyl and tape formats and goes into pre-sale on January 28, and the first single will be revealed very soon. The stunning cover artwork was once again created by visionary artist Luminokaya.
For guitarist Mårten Hagström, the task of embarking on another unprecedented tech-metal odyssey was impossible to resist. “The title fits perfectly for where we are as a band,” Mårten concludes. “We’re older now. Most of us are in our fifties now, and we’ve settled into who we are. Even though we’ve been experimenting all along, I also think we’ve been the same since day one. The way we approach things and why we still make new albums, and why we still sound the way we do, it’s immutable. Humanity is immutable, too. We commit the same mistakes over and over. And we are immutable. We do what we do, and we don’t change.”
Meshuggah are still operating on a higher level of metallic consciousness than just about everybody else. This band blow minds for a living, and Immutable is their most explosive work of monstrous art yet.
Meshuggah stand alone. Over the course of more than 30 years and eight studio albums, Sweden’s widely worshipped progressive mavens have consistently redefined what it means to be heavy, while exhibiting a ferocious intelligence that belies the crushing weight of their riffs. From the ground-breaking savagery of 1995’s Destroy Erase Improve, to the psychedelic tech-splorations of CatchyThirtyThree, and on to the streamlined grotesquery of ObZen and Koloss, Meshuggah have always been way ahead of the game and plainly without peer.
With six full-length albums since their inception in 2017 – Fresno’s Haunt has managed to vault to the top in the traditional metal genre combining stellar guitar work that balances speed and melody along with vocals that hold a desperation that’s improved over recordings. The most important aspect of these ingredients are the songs are memorable and a selection of them have been stripped for a laid-back approach on Unplugged Vol. 1 – letting the tracks shine in a vulnerable environment.
Mainman Trevor Church is a romantic at heart. Unplugged Vol. 1 is filled with songs to make love to. It’s easy to get lost in the subject of the songs when the electric storm is raining down, but pulling back there’s much heart in the lyricism and it’s not done in a cheesy or eye-rolling manner. The cuts slice slowly letting the groove and melody flow with adept harmonies putting a shine on the choruses. The guitar work is on point with Church showing his proficiency on the acoustic instrument while also exuding confidence behind the mic.
It’s all non-electric instrumentation with claps being used in to accentuate a groove, tambourines, and soft drum beats. “In Our Dreams” flourishes in this world as the chorus has a beautiful tinge to it and stands as a highlight. For a more technical side of things, “Light The Beacon” shows fleet-fingering guitar work in the beginning stages and solo while the fluid guitar strokes on “Cosmic Kiss” is impressive. “Luminous Eyes” also receives a dress-down with large expressions in the verses and a thumping of the guitar giving it a folksy edge. The one drawback is “On The Stage” falls a bit flat compared to the other numbers.
A wonderful diversion from the electric hellfire that Haunt usually ignites, Unplugged Vol. 1 is a welcome addition to their discography.
Sonata Arctica has songs that are perfect for a softer environment and the past couple years saw the Finnish power rockers (I hesitate to call them power metal anymore) go on tour stripping their songs from their electric wisdom and performing them in an acoustic setting. With touring upended by COVID-19, they held a livestream event showcasing the intimacy of these songs as well. Now comes a full-fledged album and judging by the title, a second one will be on the way.
With Acoustic Adventures, the album is indeed an adventure that balances the energetic, reflective, heartbreak, and romanticism that had defined the Finns’ career and the emotional and charismatic vocals from Tony Kakko make it worthwhile. While it’s disappointing no songs from the debut or Winterheart’s Guild (unless you’re counting Japanese bonus track “The Rest Of The Sun Belongs To Me”) make the offering, the tracklisting focuses more on material post-Reckoning Day.
Sonata mostly doesn’t mess with the original treatment of the tracks, however two notable rearrangements are better than their original counterparts – the aforementioned “The Rest Of The Sun Belongs To Me” turns into a softer, soulful song which breathes a wondrous melody and chorus part while “A Little Less Understanding” introduces a banjo for rhythmic purposes and the backup use of the organ makes it a barn door, easy-going rocker, like an off-kilter song that Gotthard would perform.
As for the hits – mammoth “Don’t Say A Word” retains its creepy edge, complete with spoken word part in the middle, taken care of by an insane Kakko, while the ultra-fast “Wolf & Raven” holds its intensity with lightning quick piano skills and another great vocal performance. The ballad “Tallulah”, with its rich melody and chorus was a no-brainer to choose and “Paid In Full” retains its uplifting, yet depressive nature. Could have done without the Toni Braxton like “Tonight I Dance Alone”, but including the odd “As If The World Wasn’t Ending” was a smart decision.
Acoustic Adventures Volume One fits a certain mood when not wanting to be engulfed in the electric madness and is a fine diversion with worthy reinterpretations of songs in their catalogue.

Em 2018, Forge declarou sobre as imagens religiosas do GHOST : “Como uma criança e adulto muito imaginativo, tenho um tipo natural de gravidade em relação à estórias, religião e História. Da mesma forma que estou interessado em ‘Star Wars’, achei a Bíblia atraente. Minha mãe é e sempre foi muito interessada em arte, então onde ela nunca foi realmente religiosa, ela é extremamente liberal, e não havia censura em casa em termos de cultura. Havia filmes franceses passando na TV com pessoas meio que transando umas com as outras, e havia rock and roll o tempo todo. Havia muita cultura adulta em minha casa. Ela sempre trabalhou com arte e sempre gostou muito de me levar à igreja – não para a missa, mas para a arte. Ela estava interessada nos artefatos. Acho que é por passar muito tempo em catedrais e igrejas. Na minha cidade natal onde cresci, há uma igreja católica muito antiga. Tem todo esse tipo de esplendor católico pródigo e esse tipo de ostentação. Toda vez que estou de volta à cidade, tento ir lá, porque é uma igreja antiga e tem muita história lá. As paredes estão literalmente sussurrando para você. Muito disso foi inspirador para o que fazemos agora.”

Dave Cobb produziu o quarto álbum de Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators
O novo álbum de Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators será lançado na próxima semana, em 04 de fevereiro. Enquanto 4 finalmente não chega aos ouvintes, a banda lançou o primeiro episódio de um mini-documentário sobre os bastidores da criação do projeto.
O quarto álbum da colaboração entre Slash, Kennedy e os “conspiradores” Todd Kerns, Brent Fitz e Frank Sidoris trouxe várias novidades à dinâmica do grupo: foi a primeira vez que todos gravaram juntos, ao vivo no estúdio, e tiveram a participação do produtor Dave Cobb no processo.
“Esse álbum é provavelmente o melhor que fizemos até agora, foi com tudo, com sessões ao vivo de cara”, conta Slash no episódio. “Falei com Dave no telefone e ele disse as palavras certas, eu estava convencido já na ligação. Quando aparecemos [para gravar], era exatamente o que a gente queria fazer. Nós tínhamos os amplificadores no estúdio com a bateria, algo que nenhum produtor jamais me deixou fazer (risos) e também fizemos os vocais ao vivo”.
O produtor explicou a vontade da banda de “fazer um álbum com a sonoridade de todos os discos clássicos” do rock que amamos, buscando uma atmosfera para reproduzir a forma que o disco seria gravado por uma banda de adolescentes na garagem – com a diferença de ter músicos de alto nível no projeto. “Você não consegue ser mais real do que isso, [o álbum] tem todas as manchas e cicatrizes e tudo que rock n’ roll deveria ter”, finalizou Cobb.
Durante uma aparição no “The Ron Keel Podcast” , o ex-vocalista do BLACK SABBATH , Tony Martin , confirmou que um novo contrato de gravação foi garantido para reeditar os álbuns que ele gravou com a banda. “Só descobri ontem“, disse ele. “Eu não tinha ideia. Você não recebe muita informação do campo do SABBATH , na verdade; eles são muito protetores com suas coisas. Então eu só descobri ontem que eles agora têm um contrato de gravação para eles. E eu não sei em que data eles planejam lançar essas coisas, mas é este ano. E o que eu sei é que não serão álbuns individuais, será um box set da era Tony Martin. Mas eles têm um acordo para isso agora, e esse sempre foi o problema antes – não está disponível e você não pode obtê-lo porque não está à venda. E da mesma forma, você não recebe royalties – eu não recebo um centavo das vendas porque não está à venda. Então, por que você faria? Mas agora, se tudo isso mudar e este ano eles conseguirem lançar isso, oh, cara – haverá muitas coisas de Tony Martin por aí.“
Martin também refletiu sobre seu tempo com o SABBATH , dizendo: “Isso não me assombra. Não é uma coisa ruim. Tenho muito a agradecer. O SABBATH é a razão pela qual você e o mundo sabem sobre minha existência. Então, há coisas para agradecer. Foi um trabalho árduo para mim. Eu sou 12 anos mais novo que o resto dos caras, então até o círculo de amigos era diferente – eles estão saindo com Ian Gillan e Brian May , e meu melhor amigo é Dave na estrada. Então isso foi uma lacuna. E também a experiência – eles foram muito à minha frente em experiência, pelo menos 12 anos adiante de mim, e nunca consegui alcançá-los; eles sempre terão muito mais experiência do que eu. Então foi um trabalho árduo.”
Ele continuou: “Quando eu consegui o primeiro show, na verdade foi em 1986 que eu fui colocado em espera quando eles estavam com Glenn Hughes no álbum ‘Seventh Star’ . E eu não sei quais eram os problemas, mas algo deu errado com Glenn e eles me colocaram em espera. Isso me assustou até a morte, porque é Glenn Hughes . Eu não posso cantar como Glenn Hughes ; ninguém pode cantar como Glenn Hughes . Só Glenn Hughes pode cantar como Glenn Hughes . Então isso foi realmente assustador. Então eles conseguiram Ray Gillen . BLACK SABBATH lançou seis álbuns com Martin nos vocais: “The Eternal Idol” (1987), “Headless Cross” (1989), “Tyr” (1990), “Cross Purposes” (1994), “Cross Purposes Live” (1995) e “Forbidden“ (1995). Eventualmente, Martin e seus companheiros de banda da era “Forbidden” foram expulsos quando o guitarrista Tony Iommi se reuniu com os membros originais do SABBATH .
No início do mês, Martin discutiu a possibilidade de os LPs de sua era do SABBATH serem reeditados em uma entrevista ao The Metal Voice do Canadá . Na época, ele disse: “Tínhamos um cara no BLACK SABBATH chamado Geoff Nicholls . Ele era o tecladista. Ele morreu há quatro anos. E quando estávamos no funeral de Geoff Nicholls , encontrei Tony Iommi lá, e ele disse: ‘Eu tenho um monte de coisas para tocar para você. Então liguei de volta e ele disse: ‘Venha até a casa e vamos conversar sobre isso.’ Então eu disse, ‘Ok.’ Então fui à casa dele e ele disse: ‘Não podemos fazer isso.’ E eu disse, ‘O quê?’ Ele disse: ‘Não podemos fazer isso.’ Eu disse: ‘Por que não?’ Ele disse porque há um acordo com os caras do SABBATH que eles só podem lançar algo [novo] sob o nome SABBATH se forem os membros originais do SABBATH . Ninguém mais pode gravar nada [novo] com o nome SABBATH …. O que ele disse foi o que podemos fazer é reeditar os álbuns. Não podemos acrescentar nada a isso. Então, o que esperamos, se ele conseguir, é que os álbuns da era de Tony Martin , além de ‘Eternal Idol’ , porque é de outra pessoa, sejam relançados. Remixado provavelmente no caso de ‘Forbidden’ , mas acho que vai ser como era… [Podemos adicionar] apenas coisas que já foram gravadas na época.“
Segundo Martin , ele já encontrou em seu acervo pessoal um monte de gravações que seriam perfeitas para inclusão em edições propostas dos álbuns do SABBATH de sua época da banda.
“Eu pesquisei… eu tenho centenas de fitas – coisas das sessões de composição”, disse ele. “Eu tenho as fitas quando Eddie Van Halen estava com a gente escrevendo ‘Cross Purposes’ . Enviei para Tony . Apareceu no YouTube ; eu não sei como isso saiu. Mas eu tenho todos os tipos de coisas assim. E eu pensei que era o tipo de coisa que eles iriam relançar os álbuns. Mas eu não tenho ideia. Você provavelmente sabe mais do que eu.”
Seis anos atrás, Iommi disse ao I Heart Guitar que “é uma pena” que “demorou muito para as pessoas aceitarem” Martin como vocalista do SABBATH . “Demorou todos esses anos depois para as pessoas dizerem, ‘Oh caramba, essa foi uma boa banda com bom canto.’ Então levou muito tempo para que as pessoas realmente percebessem o quão bom era.”
Em 2018, Iommi passou um tempo no estúdio remixando “Forbidden” para um lançamento futuro. O LP, que conta com Martin , o baterista Cozy Powell e o baixista Neil Murray , é frequentemente considerado como a pior gravação de estúdio do SABBATH .
Em uma entrevista de 2012 com Über Röck , Martin disse que ficou “surpreso” ao ver Iommi criticando-o no livro do guitarrista “Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath” (referindo-se ao período Martin , especialmente a fase de turnês). Após o lançamento de “Cross Purposes” em 1994, Iommi criticou seu ex-cantor como “não profissional” e “sem presença de palco“). Martin disse: “Quero dizer, eles nunca me disseram nada. Certamente, se você tem um problema, a primeira pessoa a quem você deve dizer algo é a pessoa que está na banda com você… Parece uma coisa muito estúpida dizer, porque não falaram nada na minha cara – e, se for o caso, então engane-os mais por não dizerem nada, porque, você sabe, poderíamos ter consertado. Eu disse a eles, sem parar, que se havia alguma coisa que eles queriam que mudasse, que fosse feito de forma diferente, só para dizer e nós poderíamos consertar, mas claramente, eles não fizeram, eles não tiveram coragem, obviamente, e escrever sobre isso em um livro depois parece um pouco idiota para mim. Eu não estou chateado com isso, mas é surpreendente… Parece um pouco estúpido dizer isso depois do evento.“
O novo álbum solo de Martin , “Thorns” , chegou em 14 de janeiro via Battlegod Productions e Dark Star Records . Entre os músicos convidados que aparecem no LP estão Scott McClellan (que ajudou a escrever o álbum), Danny “Danté” Needham ( VENOM ), Magnus Rosén ( HAMMERFALL ), Greg Smith ( ALICE COOPER , RAINBOW , BLUE ÖYSTER CULT ) e o filho mais novo de Martin , Joe .

Em comunicado postado em suas redes sociais nesta sexta-feira, 21, o Testament anunciou que está se separando de seu baterista de longa data, Gene Hoglan. Hoglan estava com a banda desde 1997.
De acordo com o comunicado, a separação foi feita de modo amigável e se deve a um desencontro de agendas do baterista e do restante do grupo. Os compromissos pessoais de Gene com sua carreira solo teriam colidido com o reagendamento dos shows do Testament depois de dois anos de pandemia. “Ao invés de remarcar as datas do Testament (de novo) ou fazer o Gene cancelar seus próprios planos, decidimos amigavelmente tomar caminhos separados”, escreveu a banda.
O grupo ainda tranquilizou os fãs ao assegurar que “não há nenhum drama” entre as duas partes e agradeceu Gene pela longa jornada com o Testament. “Gene Hoglan sempre será parte da família e nós pedimos que todos vocês se juntem a nós em desejá-lo muita sorte em seu caminho! Além disso, tenham certeza que entregaremos uma adição de qualidade ao Testament e iremos revelá-la em breve!,” prometeram.

Boy, have bands hit the bottom of the pile when it comes to choices left for a name. Hitten? Someone explain. But, luckily the music rocks ‘80s style. Nice to have another one of these bands keeping the sounds from that decade alive. Third album from the Spanish five piece, whose bass player is Satan?
“Built To Rock” opens with a Van Halen and Mr. Big fancy guitar and bass riff combo, lots of energy and edge with a big chorus and plenty of twin guitar harmonies too. “Eyes Never Lie” some traditional/power metal riffing with melodic AOR verses and chorus. Damn, can’t put my finger on it who singer Alexx Panza reminds me of. I know, its Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell band) meets Tobi from Edguy! He’s got a swagger, strong mid-range and hits big screams from time to time. Lots of retro graphic and colors for video single “Hard Intentions (Secret Dancer)”, great leads and vocals. “Ride Out The Storm” keeps up the consistency with some double bass. “Core of the Flame” is slower with a mid/late ‘80s moody Saxon feel. How’s that AOR vocal starting “Under Your Spell”, NWOBHM comes through in “Light Beyond the Darkness” and takes a turn with lots of killer Vicious Rumors level shredding skills.
Title track ends the album at eleven minutes, very Maiden like and Gamma Ray twin guitars, and dynamics. Put these guys up there with leaders of the new wave of glam metal, '80s hard rock, with Eclipse, H.E.A.T., Crazy Lixx, Girish and the Chronicles, Bloody Heels, and Dangerous Curves. Or Traditional Metal because they are a little of all that ‘80s good stuff.

Denver’s Stormkeep turned head with their 2020 debut EP, Galdrum and full-length debut Tales Of Othertime cements them as a serious force in melodic black metal. Take early Emperor, Dissection, and Sacramentum, sprinkle in some dungeon crawling synth with power metal sensibilities and out comes Stormkeep.
Stormkeep understand it’s all about the riffs and they balance hard-hitting, melodic guitar work with atmospheric keys and synth work, and they’re not afraid to let the synth do work – especially in the instrumental, “The Citadel”. Vocalist Otheyn Vermithrax shrieks his way to victory, but clean vocals are also interspersed throughout the 43 minute onslaught. Standing at six tracks, the crown jewel is the 11 minute “A Journey Through Storms”, an appropriate title that segues through breathtaking guitar work, a folksy interlude, followed by an epic, smoldering close. The use of acoustics is brilliantly used to add a dismal, brooding atmosphere.
Lyrics revolve around ancient legends and mythical times which falls right in line with that daunting artwork. The songs are their own adventures with three other tracks besides the mammoth “A Journey Through Storms” exceeding 8 minutes. The drumming ferociously attacks with blastbeats while also showing a proficient technicality. The bass could use a bump in the mix, but that’s a small complaint. The main focus are these guys are talented and can construct memorable tunes. While being influenced from those aforementioned black metal legends, they are unique have their own sound. It was a smart move to use the shorter instrumentals (“The Citadel” and “An Ode To Dragons”) as a palate cleanser to build atmosphere and ready the listener for the longer, blistering tracks.
Be sure to pick this one up – you will not be disappointed.
Legendary rock singer and actor, Meat Loaf (real name Marvin Lee Aday), has passed away at the age of 74. The sad news was shared via the official Meat Loaf Facebook page.
The message states: "Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends.
"His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including Fight Club, Focus, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne’s World.
"Bat Out of Hell remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.

The Agonist era a antiga banda de Alissa White-Gluz, hoje no Arch Enemy.
E além de ótima vocalista, ela sempre foi uma exímia escritora, e foi lá que ela escreveu uma das músicas mais pesadas do metal em relação a crítica social, “Business Suits And Combat Boots”.
A canção já começa com a seguinte frase: “O destino te guia ou você pretende modificá-lo?”
Esse prólogo já nos inicia para o que vem a seguir na canção.
“Foda-se sua roupa de grife esfolada
Tons da moda e cabelo de salão
Saltos para ajudar onde a natureza falhou
Dentes e unhas artificiais”
Quando ela diz “grife esfolada”, provavelmente é uma crítica as roupas que usam pele de animal.
E a crítica segue para todas as pessoas que tentam entrar num padrão de beleza, e se tornam artificiais: “O ninho da vespa se expande”
Aqui a analogia pode ser a comparação de uma vespa com uma abelha, que é sua semelhante, e enquanto a abelha tem um papel importante, a vespa acaba por não ser nada mais do que um predador.
E essa comparação serve provavelmente para as pessoas fúteis que a canção se refere.
“O caminho do futuro são os patrocinadores corporativos criando seus filhos”
As corporações podem ser por exemplo, os próprios programas da TV. Um simples personagem de desenho pode influenciar mais a vida de uma criança do que seus próprios pais.
“Falhas físicas são um vazio mental”
Aqui dá a entender que, não generalizando, mas boa parte dos problemas físicos que as pessoas sentem ter, são problemas criados por alguma alienação.

Agradecer aos pais pode ser também uma alusão a parte mais acima da canção, onde se dá a entender que os pais abdicam da criação de seus filhos, e deixam que as corporações tomem conta de sua criação, criando adultos complexados.

Onde a juventude é um crime e um desperdício de gastos com lojas de suor”
De fato, os jovens não mais se preocupam com coisas “da sua idade”, mas sim com ostentar ou então com seu status social perante uma sociedade que os julga por coisas que nunca conseguiram construir.

Você esconde seu rosto e sua vergonha!”
Alusão as máscaras utilizadas pela Ku Klux Klan (grupo supremacista branco), e com isso eles conseguem fazer a similaridade onde se antigamente esse grupo se escondia atrás de máscaras, as máscaras de hoje são as milhões de alternativas plásticas, fazendo com que você perca sua identidade.
“Identifique o certo e o errado quando todos os fatos são meramente opinião”
O “fato” dito na música, se refere sobre os padrões de beleza, e como tudo é questão de opinião.
Mas parece que ser você mesmo é errado, e você deve seguir sempre a manada.

Melodic Swedes exist in parallel universe as the Joe Lynn Turner era Rainbow, albeit with Mr. Man In Black still willing to lay down some stirring guitar and not completely preoccupied with writing hit American radio singles. Debut offers eight high energy guitar/keyboard hard rockers that once upon a time COULD have been heard over the airwaves (with Japan getting "Ignition" bonus). Founder/guitarist Magnus Mild also plays in NWOTHM act Air Raid. He had Goran Edman (Yngwie/John Norum) sing on "Sail Away".
"I've Got The Power" is a powerful opener, peppered (as is much of the material) with spirited six-string runs. Follow-up "Show Me" is more of a commercial ‘80s number. Still, Mild can't avoid adding his (otherwise unwarranted) two cents, actually more like $0.52 Ozzy/Ultimate Sin influenced flourish. Alternating between heavier and lighter shades, prominent pulsing keyboard notes accent "Straight Through The Heart". Kinda "Street Of Dreams" intensity, until guitar and keys "go off" in the final third.
The most metallic quotient appear, back-to-back, in the form of "Once We Were One" and "Hell Fire Burn". The former kicks off with a patented Blackmore solo run and remains energetic throughout: the Strat work recurrent. The latter is not as immediate, but packs more notes into its shorter (3:07) construct, with speedy duel between synth and guitar. The titular option, smoother than the previous pair, is still a catchy rocker. The guest vocal spot ventures further into pop/AOR territory than its surroundings, thereby rendering Edman's inclusion a waste (to these metal-bashed ears). Proper disc closer "Our Love" is a stylistic outlier, the keys taking over. Lyrics actually say, "Oh baby, our love..." Oh boy!
The aforementioned overseas extra is a 3+ minute instrumental, heavily showcasing guitar (and a bit of the synthesizer).
I generally can't get too excited about live death metal albums, but when the band in question is legendary DM crew Suffocation, what's not to like? Especially when the band's time with lead growler Frank Mullen is done, a fact that I still haven't really come to terms with. So this release celebrates Mullen in all his glory on stage, with recordings taken from his last tour with the band, in 2018.
The production is absolutely spot-on, sounding live but also, well... you ever seen Suffocation live? The band sounds absolutely insane, and that comes through on this recording, which is in some ways more enjoyable than at least some of their studio albums. As for the tracklisting, well, when you only have 13 songs and a long, celebrated career to get through, it's not going to be easy, but the band delivers the goods—hell yeah “Funeral Inception”—as they rip through amazing song after amazing song, as always handling both the blasting and the slower parts with equal amounts of ease, absolutely smothering and crushing you in the process. It leans heavier toward classic material but there are a few nods to the newer records, and it shows how consistent this band is, everything flowing perfectly together.
I remember feeling my heart moving around in my chest in time with the kick drum last time I saw Suffocation, and while this record doesn't actually do that, it brings the painful, glorious memories back. What a great testament to an era. And, Frank, thanks for all the incredible music.

Bruce Dickinson confirmou que o Iron Maiden está planejando realizar uma turnê onde apresentará seu novo álbum, “Senjutsu”, na íntegra.
O cantor de 63 anos discutiu os planos futuros do Maiden durante uma aparição no último episódio do podcast “Talk Is Jericho”, apresentado pelo vocalista do Fozzy e superstar do wrestling, Chris Jericho.
Bruce disse: “O plano que temos – não é realmente um segredo; acho que todo mundo já conversou sobre isso – vamos, espero, conversamos sobre tocar o álbum todo do começo ao fim, mas não desta vez. E todos nós apreciamos que isso é algo que os fãs realmente obstinados provavelmente vão adorar e outras pessoas vão dizer, ‘Hmmm, eu não vou ver isso.’ Então a resposta é você tocar em locais menores para que eles se esgotem apenas com seus fãs obstinados. “Na turnê “Legacy Of The Beast’, todas as pessoas pagaram seu dinheiro para ver o show com o avião Spitfire em ‘Aces High’, lança-chamas em ‘Flight Of Icarus’, e eles terão tudo isso. A banda Majestica uniu com muita perfeição metal ao clima natalino com o melhor disco da carreira
Hoje a análise é em clima de Natal, e por isso vamos falar não só de uma música, mas de um disco inteiro. Ele se chama A Christmas Carol, e é um disco conceitual da banda de power metal sueca, Majestica.
É uma banda não tão conhecida, mas pela perfeição de sua obra, vale a pena separarmos um tempinho para falarmos sobre. O nome do álbum não é por acaso, ele foi totalmente baseado no livro homônimo do escritor britânico Charles Dickens.
Esse conto se tornou um clássico e já foi adaptado e referenciado diversas vezes no cinema e na televisão, desde personagens e contos da Disney, Looney Tunes, Muppets, Doctor Who e até mesmo na DC.
O livro, lançado em dezembro de 1843, conta a história de Ebenezer Scrooge, um homem mal-humorado e que não suporta o espírito natalino. E o disco inicia com uma faixa instrumental de mesmo nome do disco/livro.
As próximas duas faixas “A Christmas Story” e “Glory of Christmas” explicam e contextualizam um pouco sobre Scrooge.
Depois disso, certo dia o protagonista da história recebe a visita de um velho amigo que havia morrido há sete anos, dizendo que seu espírito não pôde descansar em paz já que não foi uma boa pessoa em vida, mas que Scrooge ainda tinha uma chance de mudar. Esse fato é citado na canção “Ghost of Marley”.
Depois de Scrooge recebe a visita de outros três espíritos, que lhe mostram partes de seu passado, seu presente, seu futuro provável e pós-morte. Esses acontecimentos estão presentes nas canções, “Ghost of Christmas Past”, “Ghost of Christmas Present” e “Ghost of Christmas to Come”, respectivamente.
Entre essas canções, temos “The Joy of Christmas” e também “This Christmas”, que já são parte da “conversão” de Scrooge em uma pessoa melhor.
O disco termina com a canção “A Christmas Has Come”, onde o protagonista muda completamente, passando a amar o espírito de Natal e a ser generoso com os que precisam. ]Todo esse desenrolar acontece de forma gradativa e foi feito com muita maestria, conseguindo mesclar a literatura clássica com o heavy metal. Outro ponto alto do álbum é que a banda usou várias melodias natalinas tradicionais, e as adaptaram para que se encaixassem ao álbum, fazendo a imersão ser ainda maior.

O ícone do Black Metal, Abbath, ex-Immortal, anunciou seu primeiro álbum em três anos, “Dread Reaver”, e junto com ele vem um videoclipe imperdível para o primeiro single, “Dream Cull”.
“Dread Reaver”, que será lançado em 25 de março pela Season of Mist, é o terceiro LP de Abbath e o sucessor de “Outstrider”. Cry as the world burns and the world turns into a pool of fire watching as you scream and die!” A chilling and enthralling chorus Tony Martin cracks to opener, “As The World Burns,” from his much anticipated solo album Thorns. The former Black Sabbath frontman is as powerful as ever on a record that features surprising elements that’s good ol’ heavy metal which doesn’t focus on nostalgia or his past, but is planted firmly in 2022.
Martin was smart to nab guitarist Scott McClellan who pulls out a multitude of riffs that punctuate hard-hitting heavy metal. “Book Of Shadows” holds a USPM vibe with a trembling, prodding bass line greeted by choral vocals before Martin crashes in with his superb vocal delivery. This 6 minute journey is the most epic of the cuts that morphs into a chilling acoustic passage backed into a synth solo. One of the best tracks he’s ever performed on! The surprises aren’t over as “Crying Wolf” is an acoustic journey embedded with the Hammond organ complete with solo while “Damned By You” opens with a saxophone. It’s totally unexpected, but fits in with the devious lyricism and naughty riffing that reminds of Whitesnake. Love that he’s not playing it safe and taking chances.
“I met the devil and he tried to take my wings.” This lyric greets the dreary “Nowhere To Fly”, which starts slow and kicks it into gear in the chorus lines. The closer and acoustic begun title track is a duet with Pamela Moore (Sister Mary from Queensrÿche’s Operation: Mindcrime). Martin and Moore combine for wonderful, thoughtful vocal harmonies in a track that’s the most progressive of the bunch and stands as another highlight.
The diversity of Thorns is its strength as Martin and company aren’t going through the motions with similar compositions and while every track doesn’t reach greatness (the acoustic storyteller, country like “This Is Your Damnation” could have been left off), this is heavy metal written and performed with great conviction. These Thorns have sharp edges and will go down as one of the best of 2022.
Very cool concept here, Death Angel recording a live (with no crowd; this is the COVID era, after all) concert featuring only rarely played or never played cuts. I'm sold, and opener “Lord Of Hate” (from 2008's Killing Season) kicks things off as well as I could hope for, the band obviously pretty pumped to be playing these songs at this show, which was originally streamed after they recorded it in May of this year.
“Where They Lay” (the closing track from 2010's Relentless Retribution) is up next, and the band is thrashing as solid as ever. Really, considering these are not songs on the band's regular setlist, it's wild how tight they are here on this rager. “Why You Do This” is a minor classic (to me, anyway) from 1988's Frolic Through The Park, and I'm surprised it's been relegated to “rarely/never played” status, but I'm happy to see it here. Man, there are 15 songs on this release, and they all show off how ludicrously tight (“Fallen”) and high-energy (“The Organization”) this band is at their finest, and it also shows something else important: these songs that the band has chosen to not play live much or ever are still excellent, Death Angel's deep tracks showing how strong this band is, especially when they stick to thrashing.
Love the cover of Sabbath's “Falling Off The Edge Of The World”, and the acoustic “Faded Remains” (from the band's recent Under Pressure EP) is actually pretty well done, as is the stripped-down “Volcanic” (sung by guitarist Rob Cavestany) although nothing beats when these guys put their heads down and thrash to the finish line, and this quirky and shredding release is proof of that.
Polish death metal legends Vader have issued their Happy New Year message to their fans, also revealing plans for this year, read below.

"Together with Massive Music, we will try to start late February in Poland with some very special setlists, bringing back memories from early days. Besides a list of Polish songs we’d like to bring back, some tunes from Revelations (20th anniversary in 2022). Of course, this is just a supplement to the regular list presenting songs from the new album, or still expected De Profundis."
"In March - as you already know - we’ll be back on the United Titans Tour, with our friends Marduk, to visit around 20 cities in Europe. Some of the dates were already posted, and more are coming soon. In Spring, we’d love to be back on American soil and Canada. We are in progress with arranging that, more info asap. Summer time is festival time. For Autumn, together with Creative Music, we plan a huge tour in Scandinavia, all around the Baltic Sea. Right after, we’re gonna fly to the Far East to visit the eastern part of our beautiful Earth including Australia or Japan."

Primeiro vocalista e fundador da banda, Fah faleceu no início de 2021 devido à covid-19
A banda John Wayne anunciou um show especial para o dia 29 de janeiro no Fabrique Club, em São Paulo. A apresentação será em homenagem a Fabio Figueiredo, o Fah, primeiro vocalista e um dos fundadores da banda, que faleceu no início de 2021, vítima de complicações da covid-19.
O show, que já está com ingressos à venda, terá participação de 16 vocalistas da música pesada brasileira, entre amigos e inspirações para Fah. “O objetivo principal desse evento é homenagear, registrar e eternizar a vida e a carreira de Fabio Figueiredo, um dos protagonistas e propulsores da cena metalcore brasileira, a frente da John Wayne por quase uma década”, ressalta a banda em uma declaração divulgada à imprensa.
A apresentação terá cerca de duas horas de duração e vai repassar por toda a carreira da John Wayne, principalmente por músicas da época de Fah, dos álbuns Tempestade e Dois Lados. Antes do show, haverá discotecagem de Thiago DJ, amigo de Fah, que tocará diversos clássicos do metalcore e deathcore dos anos 2000, período do estilo que mais influenciou o ex-vocalista.
Os convidados são: Dijjy Samsa, Mi Vieira, Milton Aguiar, Caio Macbeserra, Bruno Figueiredo, Yuri Lemes, Paulo Rocha, André Bairral, Thiago Monstrinho, Kayke Brito, Otávio Augusto, Álvaro Limeira, Théo Moratti, Bruno Tortorello, Rodrigo Brandão e Fernando Simões.
